Al-Futtaim Group confirms plans to boost CMC Motors customer experience capacity through its newly opened automotive training school

The Al-Futtaim Automotive Group has today opened a fully-fledged technical training school at its CMC Motors complex in Nairobi.

The academy-first of its kind in Sub Saharan Africa is part of the Dubai based automotive firm’s strategic effort to boost its customer experience and after sales capacity, and underpins the firm’s commitment to deepen skills in the East Africa automotive market

Speaking when he officiated at the opening of the new purpose equipped training facility; the visiting Al-Futtaim Automotive Group President, Mr Len Hunt confirmed that the Emirates based automotive conglomerate is sparing no effort to reclaim CMC Motors glory.

Mr. Hunt leads a portfolio of automotive businesses operating in 14 countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. He was accompanied by CMC Motors CEO Mr. Mark Kass and Managing Director, Mr Wanjohi Kangangi

Barely two years into Al-Futtaim’s CMC Group acquisition, Hunt disclosed that the firm is doing “very well” with continuous corporate investment and expansion programmes now underway.

Corporate plans focusing on enhanced customer service, market development and quality products provisions, Hunt added, have already been formulated as part of a strategic effort to retain a more than 20 per cent market share locally.

“At Al-Futtaim Automotive Group, we are firmly focused on our commitment to deliver an exceptional customer experience which is founded on quality after sales service and skills transfer for our people,” Hunt said, adding that, “This facility will provide world-class training and certification services to guarantee superior service delivery to our customers.”

The CMC Motors Technical Training Academy features a suitable closed environment for technical training with eight adjacent designated automotive engineering bays equipped as per FORD, MAN, New Holland, Mazda, Eicher, Suzuki and related manufacturers standards.

Registered as a Technical Training centre, by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), the CMC Motors Technical Academy is accredited to offer various business management and automotive engineering courses for its staff.

CMC staff members and associates (Training centre will also cater for CMC Fleet customers staff members) attending the courses will be formally certified in various fields of study such as Automotive Apprenticeship, Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance, Parts Fundamentals, Motor Vehicle Sales Process & Skills, Zodiak Business Finance Simulation and Auto Body Works & Fabrication training.
